Perfectionism in Crafting
On working with the part of you that can’t let a stitch stand
When did you last finish something without finding the flaw?
You knit the row, see the slipped stitch, and rip it back. Or the piece is done and you can only see the one place it went wrong. Somewhere inside a voice is keeping score, and it calls itself high standards. But when is it a block and when can it be a driving force?
This masterclass is an invitation to look at what perfectionism is protecting, what it costs your making and when it can be useful.
What we’ll explore
Recognise. How perfectionism shows up in craft: the unfinished projects, the endless unpicking, the work that never gets worn.
Understand. The psychology and behavioural patterns underneath it, why it so often feels like conscience rather than fear and when it can in fact be useful.
Work with it. Practical tools for meeting perfectionism as it arises, in the body and at the needles. Rather than fighting it or pretending it isn’t there: when and how can it become a strength?
What you’ll receive
